Progress in the arts

On the 21st November 2011, we were at the Arts and Cultural Integrated Developmental Plan. It was facilitated by Jane Khoza, Mr. Sechoka, Phola and other colleagues. We were given information about the IDP's of the Arts and to form an organization that will be the mother-body of all arts and culture groups of Greater Randfontein. Those artists who didn't come to the meeting, should be given information of what transpired on that day.

Questions were asked by artists e.g. How are going to be helped by forming a forum of the arts whilst we don't see eye for an eye and staying in the same township? Therefore answers were rolling, it was a nice session to equip artists. Thank you to the youth coordinator of Randfontein, Jane Khoza and Phola. The workshop was good and the first of its kind in Randfontein


 

Part of tourism association

Hi, you know sometimes seeing is believing. When you try to reason with people they tell you, it your own opinion. It is very hard to go forward with what you've been already doing when you don't get support from your tourism association, municipality and district municipality.

Let's start helping each other by giving support to organization of national building, youth development and skills transfering programmes.

How do we develop such organizations specially arts and culture in tourism sector. Give them start-up costs, gigs, corporate functions and festivals. As part of economic development in South Africa, support is needed to such matters.

getting ownership to what you believe in

Yesturday, i was in a meeting with members of Red For Danger pantsulas and we discussed about Sgoob Kwela Productions and they don't understand how i should run my production. Therefore, i tried to make them understand but they said i was angry but they don't realize they were angry at me for being with members in my production and they need to use them without my concern so we disagreed on the matter. They ask me if they discuss something concerning Red For Danger Juniors how who'd i respond when they come and changed what i did with the guys, so i said, "It wouldn't be a good thing cause i've been resposible for the juniors and they have to ask me first". They argued me that it seems as if they are my group not Red For Danger's i said okay i'll leave that to them cause it is like they are side-lining me therefore i should be released from my duties as a treasure and member of the organization. I indicated how they side-lined me by going to the dance manyano workshops by dicrediting me the oppotunity to go and attend twice, i counted to them but they don't take my story. I'll see them in other events when we meet again life goes on, i am pushing the new fronteir of Sgoob Kwela Pantsula Productions that consist of only females and one male which is me the Choreographer.
